Did you always know that you wanted to be a dentist?
I did not know I always wanted to be a dentist. I always thought I wanted to be a physician. Dr. Trumm was actually my dentist, and while I was in college he encouraged me to look into dentistry. I shadowed him and learned more and went for it!
Who do you admire?
I admire both of my parents. They both grew up in difficult circumstances and became successful. They have been great parents and role models for me.
What do you really enjoy?
I am most passionate about mastering my skills as a dentist. I also love being a business owner. It’s very motivating to be in a position to shape the environment and culture our team members and patients experience every day.
What are you most passionate about personally?
Personally I am very passionate about improving as a person. Some of the areas I focus on are my relationships, health, fitness, leadership, and interpersonal skills. I love to golf (golf doesn’t love me), fishing, working, and spending time with family.
Any specific charities you love and why?
I don’t have a specific charity, but the times I have been able to do charity dentistry (whether for an event or helping out a patient of mine) really make me appreciate the value of what we can do as a dental office.
Favorite breakfast food?
My favorite breakfast food is pancakes.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I always dreamed of being a professional baseball player—if any MLB team is looking for a thirty-something-year-old rookie, have them call me.
